Our story
We are Aleksandra and Michal, and like many of you, our happiest moments are spent beneath the surface. As passionate divers, we have always looked for ways to carry a piece of the ocean with us when we are back on land. However, we noticed a pattern. Most diving apparel follows a familiar path: loud, cliché graphics and neon colors that do not quite capture the quiet majesty of the underwater world.
Whalehug was born from a desire for something different. We wanted to create high-quality, minimalist designs that we actually wanted to wear ourselves. What started as a personal project to design a few shirts for our own dive trips has grown into this shop. It is our way of sharing a more refined perspective on ocean life with a community that appreciates the subtle beauty of the blue.
This is just the beginning for us. We are constantly sketching and refining new concepts. You can expect more designs and new item types to join our collection very soon.
Crafted for You, not for landfills
We believe in intentionality and a deep respect for the waters we explore. This is why Whalehug operates on a Slow Fashion model. Every piece is Made-to-Order, meaning your garment is printed specifically for you the moment you place an order. This process ensures that we avoid the waste of mass production, meaning no warehouses full of unwanted clothes and a cleaner ocean for all of us.
By partnering with professional facilities across Europe, we ensure that our European community receives their orders quickly and without customs delays. While we currently focus on our local roots, we are working hard to expand, and shipping to North America is coming soon.
We choose to work with production partners who prioritize quality and detail. Every print uses eco-friendly, water-based inks to ensure a premium feel that lasts, without compromising the environment we love so much.
The wild and the blue
Our love for the ocean goes beyond the sport of diving. It is about a deep respect for the animals that call it home and the fragile ecosystems that sustain us all. The ocean is Earth’s last great wilderness, a place where humans are merely temporary guests.
We are often asked where we find our inspiration. Beyond our time in the water, we highly recommend these two books for anyone who shares our obsession with the sea:
